Most SMTP servers offer instant feedback, providing useful data like:
÷ ÷Someone@mydomain.com.jp does not exist
- ÷Cannot deliver email to someone@mydomain.com.jp
- ÷Email successful delivered
- ÷
Though, sometimes they're misconfigured to always reply, stating that the email was successfully delivered - even if the email wasn't delivered or if the recipient does not exist. Some of the largest ISPs are misconfigured this way in order to avoid spamming.
WorldCast provides the safe mode , ensuring that emails relayed to misconfigured SMTP servers will have a "?" in their status column.
